Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia (JMML) and Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) are rare diseases in children. Both may progress to Acute Myeloid Leukemia which is associated with worse outcomes and a decrease in overall survival. The only curative therapy for these diseases is hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Objective: To analyze aspects of the clinical and laboratory presentation, treatment, and survival among 54 patients diagnosed ... Read more

Chemotherapy and radiation therapy are some of the known treatments available for treating cancer. Unfortunately, over the years patients have developed chemo resistance to the drugs. To overcome this resistance, drug repurposing is considered an effective and alternative strategy for cancer therapy. Different antimalarial drugs have exhibited anticancer properties in various cancer types. In this review, the anticancer activity of ... Read more

The occurrence of Hepatitis B Virus-induced Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HBV-HCC) is a complex process of multi-gene and multi-step interaction, in which the synergistic effect of various cancer-promoting mechanisms accelerates the disease evolution from inflammation to tumorigenesis. In this study, first, genes encoding human proteins associated with HBV-HCC were screened from the MEDLINE literature. Based on the Protein-Protein Interaction network (PPI) in ... Read more

Goals: Letrozole is an aromatase inhibitor widely used as an anti-estrogenic therapy for breast cancer in patients expressing estrogen and/or progesterone receptors. There is currently no data that places it as a potentially hepatotoxic drug. So far, this is the first reported case of Letrozole-induced liver failure in a woman with breast cancer, so we consider the publication of ... Read more

In the current era of precision oncology therapeutics, impressive developments have been made to increase the efficacy of site-specific drug delivery systems to solid tumors, thereby avoiding the offtarget side effects traditionally seen in systemic delivery of cytotoxic chemotherapies. This approach also increases the concentration of drug directly at the site of the tumor. The incorporation of anticancer agents into ... Read more
